December 2017 Newsletter
We would like to wish all our divers, friends and family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year for 2018. Thank you for being part of the Mermaids Family. 2017 has seen us share so many wonderful memories from fun on the day diving boats to our dive trips, PADI courses and the Social BBQ’s on a Saturday night.
We also turned 25 years old in July this year. Although Mermaids has been around a bit longer, this date was based on our registration date with PADI as a 5 Star Career Development Center. It was months of celebrations and thanks to those that were able to join us for our party. We are looking forward to many more years diving with you.
We ran our last trip for the year and with great excitement 25 Mermaids divers headed off to the Maldives for a 1 week Liveaboard trip. The boat was amazing, food was awesome and diving was just stunning. On our very first dive amongst giant Moray Eels, we potted a Guitar Shark and it just got better from there.
Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, Marble Rays, Moray Eels and of course the highlight of the trip were the sharks. Diving alongside Reef Sharks, White Tips, Black Tips and the all-time favorite Whale Shark. The highlight of the trip was to spend a night dive with Nurse Sharks. These gentle creatures were so up close and personal, it was a night no one will ever forget.
We’ve got lots more planned for 2018, keep an eye out for our final events calendar and upcoming trips. We’ve also got the exciting PADI Sidemount and Self-Reliant Courses on offer if you are looking for something a little different. The Rayong Pinnacles Trip is confirmed for the 27th January 2018.
